New York state legislators have introduced a bill that would prevent state and local governments from sharing information or cooperating with federal immigration authorities. Known as the New York for All Act, the bill is in response to actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that have created fear among immigrant communities and that have resulted in abuses against some of these vulnerable individuals. In some cases, these actions have been taken with the assistance of local or state officials who have cooperated with ICE to provide information on the location
